Dr. Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, a distinguished figure in the TVET sector with over three decades of experience, is renowned as the "Scrap Man of Odisha" for his innovative work in upcycling scrap materials. His dedication to circular economy has led to the creation of stunning artifacts and sculptures, showcasing his artistic and technical skills. The Scrap Park developed at ITI Berhampur campus, a testament to his vision, has earned a place in the Asia Book of Records and attracts thousands of visitors daily. His work has inspired ITIs in Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, as well as various institutions within Odisha, to adopt his sustainable approach. Dr. Panigrahy has shared his expertise through numerous conference papers presented internationally, including ITEES in Singapore and the USA, ACET of UNEVOC in Malaysia, and CPSC in Colombo. He has also been a keynote speaker at the World Waste to Wealth Summit, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices.
